Beyond the Camera
Why I’m shifting from photography to media strategy and what it means for campaigns:
For the past few years, you’ve probably seen me behind the camera. I’ve worked across Kansas photographing local, state, and statewide campaigns; making sure candidates had a professional, authentic presence that reflected who they truly are. And honestly, I’ve loved that work.
But I got into campaigns to help make their message seen and heard. Photos are a powerful way to be seen, but being heard [and remembered] takes strategy. I realized I can make a bigger impact by working alongside candidates and their teams, not just through a few projects.
That’s why I’m shifting from photography into media and communications. I’m blending my background in storytelling with hands-on campaign experience to help candidates and coalitions cut through the noise, build trust, and make sure their message sticks. As a photographer, I tailored every image to show what made each candidate unique—their desire to listen, their passion to advocate, their eye for detail. That foundation is still at the heart of my work, but now I’m building on it.
I’m not here to reinvent the wheel. I’m here to make sure the car reaches its destination. As a Kansan, I know elections have consequences and I’ll live them to. That makes this work more important than a job.
At the end of the day, I believe every campaign is a story. I’m excited to bring strategy, media, and message together to help campaigns cross the victory line.
Because the future doesn’t stop at the ballot box, and neither should your story.
